Exactly 135 days after Russell Martin's initial media briefing as the club's head coach, successor the German coach faced reporters at Ibrox for the first time.

The scale of the challenge facing him is widely recognized, given Martin's chaotic and unsuccessful 123-day tenure.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday manager was accompanied by club chairman the chairman, along with the much-criticized duo of sporting director Thelwell and CEO Patrick Stewart.

However, what exactly did we learn from the 36-year-old German's maiden media outing as Rangers boss?

The Manager's Main Priority - Victory is Everything

One thing came through clearly from the new coach's first appearance in front of the local press - he understands the need to win matches, and achieve this quickly.

His predecessor Martin lasted only 17 matches and four months in charge, so the inquiry emerged about what timeframe the new man believes is realistic to turn around the underperforming squad.

Although deftly avoiding a specific response that could bring future pressure, Rohl's message was very evident.

"With hope very quickly," he said. "This is essential.
"In this business you have limited time. You can discuss long-term vision but it's understood it's about immediate results and the short-term is about securing victories. That is my requirement.
"Another aspect is also clear - I require every squad member to understand our intended to perform. I return to my main message: victory comes first, entertaining football and unity. By following this order, I'm convinced that I'll stay very long here."

Expectations are Standard

Martin required a police escort to leave the stadium after his last match as manager.

We've witnessed how hostile environments can become at sports teams when performances are poor. Protests have almost become an expected part of the matchday atmosphere on each part of Glasgow currently.

As the club's most youthful ever head coach, the question was posed about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would allow him to handle, never mind thrive, in one of the highest-pressure roles in British football?

"I think pressure in football is normal," he commented. "One needs to understand that very quickly.
"I believe certain individuals might mention my age but I have been a decade and a half on this path. I experienced an excellent opportunity to be at the German club and serve as only an assistant coach, but I experienced the reality to be a head coach and the demands involved.
"You begin getting results and then some critics claim you must produce entertaining football. That becomes the phase but precisely my intention. I relish those expectations and I'm excited for what's ahead."

Thelwell Defends Chermiti Signing & Hiring Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

The media pack had plenty of inquiries from the media for Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as recruitment chief, with fans skeptical about his qualifications for the role.

However, he justified and explained the choice to recruit his son to the club.

"It's always uncomfortable to hear and optically I believe everyone understood when we made this decision to hire Robbie that he'd be viewed negatively," Thelwell said.
"The reality of the situation is that we aim to bring the top players to this club.
"My view on Robbie's career and background is he didn't need my assistance in football.
"He's worked at Aston Villa as head scout, after which he moved to Norwich as scouting chief and then got promoted to player pathways manager.
"Prior to our recruited him, multiple top division teams sought to acquire him. Our approach right at the beginning of the process was consult with the CEO, Andrew and deputy chairman Paraag Marathe about this situation.
"I was highly transparent and I believe he likely experienced a stricter procedure than anybody else who's employed by this football club.
"What I do know is that he will work 25/8 to achieve success for this football club and I'm looking forward to him proving that he'll become an excellent staff member for the club."

Additionally, Thelwell defended the signing of forward Chermiti, who arrived at Rangers for a reported first payment of £8m, after failing to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

The sporting director who transferred the Portugal youth international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - once more for large funds in a £15m transfer.

He was asked if he supports his expensive purchase, who is yet to register in seven matches for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell responded. "I think the striker is a player who's got huge potential.
"I haven't doubted him in any way. Again, I think the manager will assist in maximize the potential out of the player.
"It's very initial stages for the young player, he remains promising prospect and of course with inexperienced players they sometimes require patience.
"But I'm certain throughout of his time here he's going to prove that he is very, very good footballer."

Stewart Acknowledges Supporters' Frustration and Hurt

Stewart was also in the media scrutiny, considering the criticism that has been aimed at him by certain of the club's own supporters.

There was even a sign in the Sandy Jardine stand during the last draw with United inviting Stewart - and Thelwell - to depart before they were packed for them.

Similar to the sporting director, Stewart didn't avoid the issue.

"I totally appreciate the disappointment and hurt that the supporters are feeling because performances recently haven't been expectations and no one is satisfied with those," he stated.
"The hurt and disappointment fans experience is matched inside the boardroom.
"Also understand that there must exist an outlet for those frustrations and as chief executive, I'm responsible.
"I'm a lightning rod for those and my responsibility as a
